Manuel takes Runner-up

As predicted, Charlie Manuel did not win the NL manager of the year award. He finished with eight first place votes; seven shy of the winner, Cubs skipper Lou Pinella. 

The AL award went to Joe Madden who took the Tampa Bay Rays from worst to first in the AL East.

This is Pinella's third Manager of the Year title and Maddon's first. Charlie Manuel has yet to win one.
